The record
A red-brick Federal / Greek Revival plantation house completed in 1826 by Randal McGavock in Franklin, Williamson County, Tennessee. During and after the Battle of Franklin (November 30, 1864), the house served as a Confederate field hospital, and the adjacent McGavock Confederate Cemetery holds nearly 1,500 soldiers. On the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP #73001857, 1973); now a museum operated by the nonprofit Battle of Franklin Trust.
