The record
A historic coal-town hotel in Windber (established 1897 as a company town for the coal mines near Johnstown). Owned by filmmaker and novelist Blair Murphy, the Grand Midway has grown into a small campus (with the Midway Elf House and Midway Cathedral) serving as a base for contemporary artists, and leans openly into its paranormal reputation - in 2019 setting a world record for the largest Ouija board, painted on the hotel roof. Long a draw for psychics, mediums, and paranormal investigators.
