The record
A historic riverfront hotel in Marietta, Ohio - Ohio's oldest city - built in 1918 and long associated with the Hoag family who owned it. It succeeded the Bellevue Hotel, built on the same site in 1892 and destroyed by fire on April 26, 1916. Marietta sits at the confluence of the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers, and the Lafayette is a fixture of the historic downtown.
