The record
A defunct amusement park in Mercer County, West Virginia, opened in 1926 by entrepreneur Conley T. Snidow on the site of the 18th-century Mitchell Clay settler farm, and operated until 1988 (with a brief 1980s reopening). Several real deaths occurred during its operation, including a young girl killed on the swing ride in 1966 and drownings in the park's pond. Its rides and structures still stand, abandoned. The site has been featured on Ghost Lab, the Travel Channel, and National Geographic.
